25 or 6 to 4 is a single by Chicago. It is taken from their album Chicago II previously only known as Chicago. There was for a long time unclear what was the meaning of the title. It was thought to be about a trip went. Writer Robert Lamm explained it later. He wrote this song around five and twenty-six minutes for four hours at night (3: 34/3: 35). The number falls within the rockgenre, while most other songs from that era still have a more jazz-like character. The single comes up regularly for on Live albums and compilation of the band. In particular Chicago IV is the public enthusiasm the great Carnegie Hall.
That jazz was not far away, showed off a cover of Woody Herman 's big band and The Thundering Herd on Children of Lima. For a solid hard rock version one can go toMotley Crue. Earth, Wind & Fire played this song during their joint tour with Chicago. The usual soul music of EWF is then to look far.
In 1986 a new version of the song appeared on Chicago 18. It was then a package of the trombonist James Pankow, of the music group.

The first version on 12 september 1970 took fourth place in the Billboard Hot 100. A high from the Billboard list is that the picture prior to that 4th place at place 6 (6 to 4) stood. The second version was also in 1986 in the list; beyond place 48 it did not come. On this side of the Atlantic was 25 or 6 to 4 in the United Kingdom the last hit of the early Chicago, until in 1976 the big hit came If You Leave Me Now . It took out a seventh place in 13 weeks.
