Bachman–Turner Overdrive[1] is a Canadian rock group from Winnipeg, Manitoba, that had a series of hit albums and singles in the 1970s, selling over 7 million albums in that decade alone. Their 1970s catalogue included five Top 40 albums and six U.S. Top 40 singles (ten in Canada). The band has sold nearly 30 million albums worldwide, and has fans affectionately known as "gearheads"[2] (derived from the band's gear-shaped logo). Many of their songs, including "Let It Ride", "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet", "Takin' Care of Business", "Hey You" and "Roll On Down the Highway", still receive play on classic-rock stations.
After the band went into a hiatus in 2005, Randy Bachman and Fred Turner reunited in 2009 to tour and collaborate on a new album. In 2010, they played the halftime show at the Grey Cup in Edmonton, AB and continue to tour as of summer 2014.
On March 29, 2014, The classic "Not Fragile" line up reunited for the first time since 1991 to accept the JUNO Award for Bachman-Turner Overdrive and participated in performing in a tribute version of "Takin' Care of Business."

Genesis[Edit]
The predecessor of BTO was the band Brave Belt, founded in 1970 by The Guess Whomembers Randy Bachman and Chad Allan along with Robbie Bachman and Fred Turner. It also wanted Keith Emerson of The Nice there, but had to drop out due to illness. After two albums was All replaced by Tim Bachman and the band changed its name to Bachman-Turner Overdrive.
The success[Edit]
BTO released their first two albums in 1973 from. By Bachman-Turner Overdrive II is "Takin' Care of Business" coming, one of their biggest hits.
In 1974 Tim Bachman was replaced by Blair Thornton. The third album of the band, Not Fragile, supplied the world hit "You ain't seen nothin' yet", a number one hit in the us. The following years they released several successful albums. In 1976, the band with the song Lookin' out for # 1 in the Dutch top 40 at number 29 and came no further than the 21st place and kept it 5 weeks.
Two BTO's[Edit]
Randy Bachman left the Group In 1977, to pursue a solo career. He was replaced by Jim Clench. The band released several more albums, but loved when to exist.
In 1980 came a reunion, with a lawsuit between brothers Bachman over the rights to the band name as a result. One new group, led by Randy, went touring under the name Bachman-Turner Overdrive, another, led by Robbie, with the other ' old band members ' Fred Turner, Blair Thornton, and Randy Murray, toured as "BTO".
In 1984 came a new studio album. The band consisted of Randy and Tim Bachman, Fred Turner and Garry Peterson. In 1986, the band played as support act for Van Halen, another American rock band with occupancy problems. Fred Turner had then left the band, to join the "other" BTO add to. Robbie Bach mans BTO has to 2004 occurred. Both bands have since been inactive.
