Break My Mind:Laura Cantrell

Artist: Laura Cantrell

Appears On: Unreleased

Appears On (Mixes): Past The Barber and Gymnasium; Hobotic Mixed CDs Volumes 1-5

Song Notes: Past The Barber and Gymnasium: This is an old John D. Loudermilk song, but one of the most known versions is probably by George Hamilton IV, but it's been recorded by a lot of big country names, like Barbara Mandrell, Vern Gosdin, Crystal Gayle, Hank Snow, The Jordanaires and The Oak Ridge Boys. This is a live version that Laura Cantrell put up at her website a long time ago (she's since taken it down), and she really nails this wonderful song. She's got a lot of other really great covers of classic songs, like "Roll Truck Roll:Laura Cantrell" or "Poor Side of Town:Laura Cantrell", too, not to mention all her wonderful originals. Anyone who loves country should pick up all her albums—the new one, Humming By The Flowered Vine is very good, too. Anyone who doesn't love country should pick these albums up and be exposed to the good stuff. - Rev. Syung Myung Me
