ReviewEdit

Money Mark, who is better known as Mark Ramos-Nishita, returns for his first recordings in nearly three years. Mark’s claim to fame is as the unofficial fourth member of the Beastie Boys. Somehow, he went from working as a handyman on the Beastie’s Silverlake, CA home to becoming a pivotal member of the Grand Royal Team. He even did quite a bit of performing on Check Your Head and Ill Communication. How is he as a solo artist though? Constructing songs around keyboards and light-hearted vocals, Money Mark belongs on the beach with similar artists like Jack Johnson and G. Love (who plays the harmonica on “Nice 2 Me”). But what makes Mark stand out is the presence of instrumental innovation and soul. This is for mostly fans of the solo jam artist, but don’t hold that against him… this was released on Chocolate Industries who has also brought us Vast Aire and Diverse. Michael Ardaiolo
