Doin' the Voom Voom
Doin ' the Voom Voom (also called Bailando el Vum Vum) is a composition by jazz-band leader Duke Ellington and trumpeter Bubber Miley. Ellington and his Orchestra several times on this foxtrot names under different names (Duke Ellington and His Cotton Club Orchestra, The Whoopee Makers, The Jungle Band, The Washingtonians), the first time on January 8, 1929 in New York City. It was a modest hit, but has never become a classic. Later also some other musicians such as pianist Dick Hyman, trumpeter Ron Miles (with Bill Frisell), trombonist Papa Bue Jensen and Duke Heitger & Bernd Lhotzky.
