Song Notes: You Are What You Is is a real uneven album, but it's still one of my favorite Frank Zappa records. And it's because of songs like this, which is one of my all-time favorite Frank Zappa songs. It's such a great one, really. I don't care if Zappa was doing this kind of thing ironically—it really, really works. It's a bit of neo-old-style-R&B, and it's got a really, really awesome guitar solo on the outro and the ad-libbed vocals are also great—sort of like Johnny "Guitar" Watson's flambe vocals on "San Berdino" or "In France", though to a lesser extent since it's not actually Johnny "Guitar" Watson on this one. But whatever. It's still an outstanding song. Too bad on the record it flows into "Goblin Girl". At least that one's catchy, unlike fuckin' "Conehead". - Rev. Syung Myung Me
