JS Bach

Johann Sebastian Bach (March 31, 1685 - July 28, 1750) was a German Baroque era musician and composer.  He is known as one of the greatest composers in history, with his works being praised for their artistic beauty and harmonic styling.

Early Life

Bach was born in Eisenach, Saxon-Eisenach, on March 31, 1685, to Johann Ambrosius Bach and Maria Elisabeth Lämmerhirt.  At an early age, he was taught music theory and violin by his father, who was the town's music director.  His uncles were also musicians, and one, Johann Christoph Bach, introduced him to the organ.
