Franz Ferdinand are a Glaswegian band formed in 2002 whose 2004 self-titled debut, Franz Ferdinand, went to no.2 on the UK Albums Chart. Comprising of Alex Kapranos (vocals), Nick McCarthy (lead guitar), Robert (Bob) Hardy (bass guitar) and Paul Thomson (drums), Franz Ferdinand's first single was the Darts of Pleasure EP, which peaked at no.44 on the UK Singles Chart. After UK Top 10 hits Take Me Out, Dark of the Matinee and This Fire, Franz Ferdinand became an international success. Their second album, You Could Have It So Much Better, was released in 2005 and went to no.1 on the UK Albums Chart, featuring hits like Walk Away, The Fallen and Eleanor Put Your Boots On along with Grammy-nominated Do You Want To. Their third album was released in 2009, titled Tonight: Franz Ferdinand, and it hit the top 10 in countries like Australia, UK and USA. It featured hit singles Ulysses and No You Girls, and also featured other singles Can't Stop Feeling and What She Came For as well as an alternate 8-minute rendition of Lucid Dreams.
