George Jones (SaratogaTexas12 september 1931 – NashvilleTennessee26 april 2013[1]) was an American country music singer. He has as a solo artist, but also together with other artists, had more than 150 hits . This led to great recognition among music critics and fellow musicians. Waylon Jennings wrote in his song "it's Alright":"If we all could sound like we wanted to, we'd all sound like George Jones."

In addition to his musical career knew Jones a turbulent life. He often took the headlines with reports of drunkenness, various relations (including his marriage to Tammy Wynette) and violence. Also, he missed many performances, earning him the nickname "No Show Jones" brought.

Jones had his last tour planned for 2013, after which he retired wanted to go. After a hospitalization due to blood pressure problems, he died on 26 april of that year at the age of 81.
