Song Notes: This is another one of DEVO's hit songs, though a lesser hit than "Whip It", their biggest. This version is taken from the Tank Girl soundtrack—although I don't recall if it's actually on the CD or not, as this is the version with vocals by Lori Petty, the actress who played Tank Girl in that film. Interesting story with this arrangement—a while before the film came out, Soundgarden covered this song, and the producers wanted to use that version in the film. Unfortunately, Soundgarden wanted too much money, so they contacted DEVO and asked them to do a new version of "Girl U Want" based on the Soundgarden version. So, in a sense, this is a cover of a cover by the original band. The standard Tank Girl version has Mark Mothersbaugh doing the vocals, but just to be extra weird, I chose this one. -Rev.
