Hurricane Smith (b. Norman Smith on 22 February 1923 – East Sussex (England), March 3, 2008was an English sound engineer and record producer. He is best known for his work with The Beatles and Pink Floyd.

Norman Smith began his career as a sound engineer at EMI record company in 1960. In that capacity he worked from 1962 along with music producer George Martin to the first albums by The Beatles. The last album in which he was involved, it is in 1965 released "Rubber Soul".

Smith then worked as a music producer and produced three albums by Pink Floyd, including their 1967 debut album, "The Piper at the Gates of Dawn".

Smith also wrote music and had some success in the 1970s with several singles (among other things "Don't Let it Die" and "Oh Babe What Would You Say?") under the pseudonym "Hurricane Smith".

Smith died at the age of 85 on March 3, 2008.
