Artist: The Freshies

Album: Punk: Lost And Found

Appears On (Mixes): Pray For My TV Show

Song Notes: I don't know ANYTHING about The Freshies, so I looked them up on wikipedia. It didn't help out too much, but I did find out that Virgin made them change the name of this song to "I'm In Love With The Girl On A Certain Manchester Megastore Checkout Desk", and that the lead guy, Chris Sievey is Frank Sidebottom as well as that guy who wrote a game for the Sinclair ZX81 and put it on one of their singles (The wikipedia article claims it was on cassette versions, but what I'd always heard was that it was on the b-side of the 12", with instructions to dub it to a cassette tape and plug it in to your Sinclair. It's really awesome either way, but that one strikes me as even more awesome. And I'm pretty sure that's actually the way it was. Particularly since the Cassingle seemed to come a LITTLE bit later. Yep, just looked it up: 1987.) This is also a really great song, too—cool pop type hooks and everything. Just a real good, fun one. I wish I knew more about them. I should see if they have any records out. - Rev. Syung Myung Me
