Jeffrey (Jeff) Wayne (QueensNew York City1 July 1943) is a musician/singer who is best known of his musical version of The War of The Worlds by H. G. Wells. He has also written advertising jingles were broadcast in the United Kingdom .

Youth[Edit][]

Wayne was born in QueensNew York City. His father, Jerry Wayne, was an actor, singer and theatre producer. He had much influence on his son, Wayne developed his love of music by his father, his love for tennis and he introduced him the book The War of The Worlds by H. G. Wells. Wayne took classical piano lessons, and later, jazzand was taught tennis by his father. He spent four years of his childhood in the United Kingdom, after his father had gotten a role in a West End musical production of guys and dolls.

Four years later, back in New York, he received his diploma on the Stephen Halsey Jr. High and then went to the Forest Hills High School for a year, they moved to California. He graduated from Grant High School and afterwards he graduated from Los Angeles Valley College with a journalism degree. In that time, he played in local bands and coached tennis to support himself. After completing his journalism degree he switched to music, the music.

The beginning of his music career[Edit][]

In 1966 his father offered him the chance to compose the music of the musical Two Cities, based on the book A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens. The musical was a great success. And back in the United Kingdom began his musical career only really. He was producer and helped produce David Essex album Rock On.

The War of The Worlds[Edit][]

In 1978 , the album Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of the Worlds from. This was a great success with the singles " Eve of the War and Forever Autumn (with the vocals of Justin Hayward).

In 1992 the album Spartacus was issued. It was The first major album after Jeff Waynes War of the Worlds.

In 1998 the album was (and not of the book) a game made. The title of the game was Jeff Wayne's The War of The Worlds.

The Musical in Netherlands[Edit][]

In 2009 and 2010, Jeff Wayne the musical version of his "War of the Worlds" implemented in the Heineken Music Hall Amsterdam to.
