Fine went along with the trends in the music at the time. He began in the 1920s with a seven-piece jazz band in New Orleansstijl. In the 1930s played fine in a successfulswing combo, and in the 1950s he had a show at the Sahara in Las Vegas. In the 60 's went fine with a pop-rock go-go band. In all his musical pursuits you saw his exuberant personality back.
Fine played in a number of films, including in 1936 along with Bing Crosby in Rhythm on the Range. He also provided his voice to the production of the Disney film the Jungle Book, in which he spoke the voice of King Louie .
His best known songs hear Jump, jive, an' wail, Just a Gigolo/I ain't got Nobody, Buona Sera (Signorina), Sing, Sing, Sing and Pennies From Heaven.
In the 1970s went prima's health declined. He got a heart attack in 1973, and in 1975 he suffered from headaches and bouts of memory losscaused by a brain tumor , which turned out to be. Because of an intra cerebral hematoma was he had surgery to remove the tumor. After surgery he was in a coma where he never would come out. He was transferred to New Orleans, where he died three years later at the age of 67. Fine was buried in Metairie Cemetery in New Orleans.
