Text from an old blog of Zach's:
So, where else to start but the start? I grew up in a city near Albany. It was a respectable neighborhood to some, had its high rate of crime and all that, but it just spiraled lower and lower. Now the name is just hand-in-hand with the word scum bag, apparently. And who knows, maybe I AM a scum bag for being from there. Anyway, let's continue down the path. I was born in early 1995, making me 14 years old, a soon-to-be freshman. But see what differentiates me from other kids my age, is I've seen some shit I shouldn't have seen, heard some shit I shouldn't have heard, and even said shit I shouldn't have said. I'm more mature at this age because of this. I've seen my dad slowly drink himself toward his grave, both of my two brothers smoke the brain cells out of their heads, and even heard one of my brothers nearly dying cause of habits. So some of my family, pretty much shit. My mom however, much different. Her dad came off the boat from Italy, classic Italian mobster story. So although he was good to her, he wasn't always there. Her mother was an abusive bitch, to put it nicely. She ended up going through countless orphanages, and she's done her absolute best to make my life great. And she has had relative success, although my dad pretty much fucks that up. Now I just go each day trying not to fall into the category of 'like father like son' and 'families stick together' because I don't want to be on the news dead at age 16 from overdosing.
