Marty Friedman (born Martin Adam Friedman, December 8, 1962) is a thrash metal guitarist, most widely recognized and best known for his tenure as the lead/rhythm guitarist for thrash metal band Megadeth, which lasted almost a decade. He has resided in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan since 2003, and has hosted his own television programs, Rock Fujiyama and Jukebox English on Japanese television. Since his departure from Megadeth he has developed a successful solo career, having released ten studio albums, and continues to perform as an occasional session musician. He is most active in Japan.
