History[Edit][]

Mark Brydon became active in the dance scene in the 1980s and sat behind various projects. In 1994 he met at a party Róisín Murphy. The opening sentence Do you like my tight sweater was the beginning of their relationship. A relationship that also meant an instant musical collaboration.

Do you like my tight sweater was also directly the name of the first album that appeared in 1995. The debut album and the single Fun for me were successful. From the album were 250 thousand units sold. The second album I am not a doctor, however, did much less well and therefore seemed Moloko in the of being completely forgotten. That changed, however, when the German house producer Boris Dlugosch made a remix of the song Sing it back. This version was a European hit in summer of 1999. The band scored a hit in Belgium and Netherlands with Sing it back. Not long after the albumThings to Make and Do (2000) with the single The time is now. Also this song was a hit. The live band Moloko's expanded to a full band, with which at many festivals was done to them. In the summer of 2001 lent Róisín her voice to the number of Boris Dlugosch Never enough . This in return for his remix to which they had a lot to thank.

The relationship between Mark and Róisín ran in 2001 piece. However, the duo initially at each other as business partners. In 2003 followed the album Statues, that these perils painfully came into being. The album was according to Murphy full of metaphors about loneliness and desolation. Murphy is in interviews slip that "I just don't see in how to proceed. Before that it was the emergence of Statues still too difficult. " When the tour was over the duo's Statues eventually fell apart. Though still the dvd appeared 11,000 Clicks and compilation Catalogue. Murphy continued his solo career, and released the albums Ruby Blue (2005) andOverpowered (2007) out. Brydon works more behind the scenes but makes occasional remixes as DJ Plankton.
