New Orleans, Louisiana is a major city of Louisiana located in United States.
New Orleans is a major port city located near the Gulf of Mexico and was once occupied by the French prior to the Louisiana Purchase. Due to a combination of major historical and cultural events, the city became multicultural and is considered as the most unique city in the United States.

New Orleans has a long history of culture during the Mardi Gras celebration which often feature Jazz music from the 20th century. The city has experienced many cultural changes with the most significant being the Harlem Renaissance which brought Jazz music into the region. New Orleans is also a birthplace of Louis Armstrong who is among the world's most famous Jazz musician and composer. In recent years, the city became more diverse with the introduction of Blues, Latin American music as well as Hip hop into the city.
