Biography[]
Harry Nilsson was one of the best pop vocalists and songwriters. In fact, he got his start as a songwriter for many acts including Glen Campbell and the Yardbirds, though soon he started releasing his solo records showing off his excellent voice. Nilsson's songs often went between the gorgeously pretty and the witty and hilarious. Many of his records didn't sell lots and lots of copies, but they were typically all critically well received, and he'd done many firsts, including the first Remix Album, and the first album of standards by a modern pop musician. He died in 1994 of a heart attack while working on his last, unreleased album.
