Review[]

POLYSICS are pretty much the best band in the universe. POLYSICS are way better than your favorite band. This holds true even if POLYSICS are your favorite band. They're JUST THAT GOOD. Anyway, though, this is a best-of type release, with some re-recorded songs. They're carrying the DEVO torch (and have been endorsed by DEVO themselves), only with much higher energy. The good news (for everyone but me, since I ordered my copy from Japan) -- I think it's already out domestically in the UK, and it's coming out in the US beginning of next year. So, definitely check this out. It's a pretty good mix. (If you follow the Bruce McCulloch philosophy of "greatest hits albums are for housewives and little girls", in the US, Neu is a pretty great album that's available relatively easily. If you don't care about the costs to import something from Japan, my favorite album of theirs is For Young Electric Pop. The other US release is Hey, Bob! My Friend, which is a collection of early songs, but I don't think that's quite as successful. It's still good, but it's not quite Blow-You-Away-Good.) Also—their keyboardist KAYO released an EP this year, Braided Cord Heroine. It's pretty good, although much more J-poppy than POLYSICS ever get, but it's still filtered through that POLYSICS sensibility. It's definitely worth checking out. - Rev. Syung Myung Me
