Biography[Edit][]
Plastic Bertrand broke in 1977 by Ça plane pour moi with the monster hit (I traffic in higher realms). In the Dutch popprogramma he performed Toppop jumping on atrampoline. Already a year later, he was a "rock star", with all the drugs & sex & rock and roll that go with them. For example, there are rumors that he once a New York hotel room with an axe to smithereens would have beaten. After this wild years diluted the fame of the Belgian rock God somewhat. So he had a small hit in 1979 with Tout petit la planète, but a small eight years later he performed it on the Eurovision Song Contest on the second-last place to end, Club for Luxembourg with the song Amour amour. In 1988 had a small hit with Plastic Bertrand Slave to the beat.
Nowadays he runs a private art gallery and he is producer for upcoming talent.
In 2006 the singer won a lawsuit brought against him was filed by Lou Darwesh, the producer of Ça plane pour moi. Kicki tried through this lawsuit to acquire the rights to this song and claimed that Plastic Bertrand had sung the song not itself. Experts were appointed as a result of this lawsuit. These came in July 2010 on the basis of the voice of the singer to the conclusion that Kicki the song sung must have. In addition, an accent from Northeast France Sung and not from Brussels.
In the Dutch Top 2000 program was to see a report on 28 december 2010 in which Lou Kicki gave an explanation on the above issue from Thailand and are alike wanted to demonstrate. He indicated also that the lyrics of the song Ça plane pour moi was actually an accumulation of all kinds of absurd incoherent things. The song has a very high rate and the text is sung very quickly with a lot of words (5 stanzas and the chorus 4 times in 3 minute 17). It stars Lou Kicki still regularly under his own name the number. The Court has not yet decided whether Kicki based on these findings is entitled to neighbouring rights. [1]
