The Babys were a British music group , which was active in the years 1974 to 1980. They had a number of hits in the UK, but also in the Netherlands. However, they were in the United States more successful.
The band was founded by Michael Corby (guitar and keyboards) and manager Adrian Miller in London . The name ranged from Cry Babies to Big Babies, but ultimately remained about The Babys. The band began touring and then came into contact with producer Bob Ezrin . The Babys were signed by Chrysalis Records . The music consists of solid rock and ballads . It was a rather unfortunate time for such music as the punk made her appearance. Corby and Millar were not really happy with the first album, but the audience, especially in the United States , bought the album though. The single If you've got time sold well there.
The second album Broken heart contained the first hit of the band Is not it time . It was also the start of rumblings within the band. The first victim was the manager Millar;He had to resign from Chrysalis. The second victim was founder Corby, who at the time was more interested in the birth of his baby. He was also known as the sleeper in the band and the record label saw more in the easier-to-the-intercourse John Waite. Corby left the decision to the band and was voted down. The third album Head first hit followed by Everytime I think of you , later sung by Marco Borsato and Lucie Silvas .
Corby was replaced, eventually took the band Jonathan Cain and Ricky Phillips , the last came from Nasty Habbit. Waite had been promoted himself leader of the band.During a series of concerts come as a support act for The Babys Journey to stand. Cain would eventually change. The fourth album from the band included some spicy music, but would herald the demise of the band. Sales fell short of expectations.
During the tour associated with their latest album, Union Jacks Waite got injured because an overconfident fan jerks him off the stage during a concert in Cincinnati , Ohio .After a concert in Akron (Ohio) , the band says further tour dates. After the breakup of The Babys founded John Waite, Jonathan Cain and Ricky Philips Bad English , but Cain got pretty soon about to Journey. Brock was playing with Rod Stewart , where Wally Stocker was entitled. The latter was also in Air Supply .
