Artist: The Flying Lizards

Album: The Flying Lizards

Appears On (Mixes): Hobotic Mixed CDs Volumes 1-5

Song Notes: One of my favorite cuts from the first Flying Lizards album, it's also probably the cut that sounds the least like the other Flying Lizards stuff—rather, it sounds like a bizarre mix of Björk and Renaldo & The Loaf... which is actually pretty rad, and makes you wish that Brian Poole & David Janssen would get back together and Björk would dump that Matthew Barney loser and start working with them and do an album. Maybe throw Matmos in the mix, too, that might be rad. Anyway, though, this is a cool song about a woman who is afraid of her boyfriend, who may or may not be a vampire, but is, nonetheless, making holes to drain blood. It's a really creepy song with some excellent production work and great sounds with a cool groove on it that's almost like David Cunningham's work with the dub reggae stuff like on The Secret Dub Life. Everyone should hear this song—it's SO rad. - Rev. Syung Myung Me
